New Jersey Shipwrecks: Sandy Hook to Cape May

Read about the doomed liner Morro Castle, which caught fire the night the captain mysteriously died. Her crew, involved in smuggling drugs, contraband, and illegal immigrants abandoned the drifting ship without regard for the passengers. The burning liner was finally pushed ashore off Ashbury Park by high winds.
